The Great Wall

Happy Monday !!

Next up on blog is a travel post and as the title suggests it is none other than one of the seven wonders of the world The Great Wall of China. This wonder needs no introduction as we all know it is one of the longest walls built along the northern borders of China in bits and pieces way back in the 7th century Bc. Later those walls was joined together to be more stronger and bigger and collectively now it is known as The great Wall of China.

Let's not go too deep into history and just take a moment to appreciate this wonder. A group of friends and I went to the Mutianyu section of the Wall which is almost an hours drive from the Beijing International Airport. Upon reaching Mutianyu there were cable cars to take us up in the hills to the wall. I must tell you the ride was a breathtaking one. Once we reached the hills there was a stair of like 10 to 12 steps that leads you to the wall. From that point the real experience begun. As we walked up the stairs, we were standing on the Wall that I had been wanting to visit from a very long time and finally this was the time that I made it. I couldn't believe how in those days these people had managed to built a wall as huge and as concrete as this up in the hills. I mean just compare today's age and technology to that era when they had manually stood this wonder up. Simply unbelievable.
We had decided to walk towards our left through the watch towers to one of the highest points covering almost a kilometer. As you may see in the pictures this walk to and fro was definitely an adventurous one and a Walk to Remember for a lifetime.

The weather now in Beijing is very pleasant with temperature anywhere between 21 - 31C but with occasional rains. We were lucky enough it was a bright sunny day. Hence I wanted to be comfortable with my outfit and sported these dressy shorts that I got from my last trip to Korea with a printed crop top and a pair of shoes from Primark.

Hope you like this travel post and will come up with more in the coming days as my ever so wandering soul hauls in the next destination.

Until next time ..... keep it stylish....keep it functional

Lots of Love

  3. Wow very nice images you have added here. Climbing the Great Walls is a must experience for your journey to Beijing. There is a saying in China that you won't become an idol until you ascend the Great Walls. There are about 8 segments of the Great Walls around Beijing. The Great Walls of China is one of the greatest attractions on the globe — the lengthiest wall on the globe.
