Fall Greens

Happy October you guys!!
Advancing more towards Fall, we all love to wear more of Olives, Tans, Marsalas and all of those Fall Colours. To transition from Summer to Fall, what we can do best is mix summer with fall colours in our outfits and remain updated with the changing Season. Let us welcome Fall.

Today's outfit post is all about this gorgeous pair of co-ordinates that I came across from one of the online stores in India. If you have read one of my previous posts Palazzos, you know already how convinced I am with the wide legged Pants now. To top it up, when I found a pair of co-ords, another favourite trend, that has a Palazzo with a Crop-top, I had to own it in my wardrobe. I also loved the fact that it has a mix of both summer(mint green) and fall(olive) greens with hint of berry colour which screams transition already. It is a statement piece of outfit. Hence I accessorized it with basic neutral Black accents from shoes, to neckpiece and to the sunnies. I am so ready for Fall.

Are you Fall ready already?? Please let me know what colours and trends do you prefer to wear this season through your comments.

Hope you liked this post. Until next time....keep it stylish.....keep it functional.
Lots of Love

Summer to Fall/Winter Part II - Mixed Patterns

Happy Friday!

How are you gorgeous people. Continuing my Summer to Fall/Winter outfit post series, today I curated a summer and a winter staple from my wardrobe to create this look.

Mixing pattern has been my latest obsession while creating an outfit. It's so much fun, but it can be risky as well if we don't do it right. A few tips that I keep in mind while doing so

1. Stay in the same colour family, or try to connect both the the pieces with one common colour. As in this outfit, I had chosen pink as the base colour which you can see in the floral print of the dress. The overcoat has light pink undertone as the base colour.

2. Break the Patterns a little by adding some solid detail to the outfit. It may be accessories, shoes anything, but the key is keep everything else simple.

3. Unless it is a matching co-ordinate outfit, avoid mixing the same pattern from head to toe. For example stripes from head to toe, or a polka dot dress to polka dot shoes and accessories. Probably a striped shirt with a solid coloured pants/skirt and shoes paired with a striped bag without clashing colours of the stripes of the shirt, would be a smart idea to achieve the mixed pattern look. However mixing different scale of the stripes is also a good idea.

4. The patterns that you choose to mix should not compete with each other. For example in my outfit I had chosen bigger cheetah prints as compared to the size of the floral prints in the dress. Keep the number of patterns to a minimum of two, one being a little understated than the other.

5. Mixing a pattern with a different texture of cloth is also a great idea for mixed pattern look. For example a plaid shirt with a leather pant paired with a fur vest/jacket looks chic as well as bold and well put together.

6. For a casual yet cute look go subtle while mixing patterns. For example a leopard print shoes paired with a solid coloured outfit and a striped bag is a great idea.

Hope my my Pattern Mixing mantras are useful for you.

Until next time keep it stylish....keep it functional.

Love

Berry Plaid

 Hello Lovelies,

Hope you guys had an awesome weekend! I went back to my hometown for the weekend with my husband. As the weather is changing now, I would suggest everyone to keep themselves warm and immune their system with loads of "vitamin C" coz my sweetheart had caught viral fever and I had caught a little infection. It's thanks to the timely antibiotics that we are fine now. I still believe that prevention is better than cure. This inspired me to take my light winter essentials out of the winter cupboard. I love this Grey top that I had bought a few years back, which has a Georgette front and a Woollen back and full sleeves. It is flowy and woollen, thus providing me the right amount of warmth that I may need in this weather in the evenings. This pair of Berry colour based Tartan/Plaid leggings is the hero of my otherwise neutral top and the blush faux leather vest. I believe a pop of colour is what it takes to put life into any outfit. Hence co-ordinated my lip colour with the berry plaid legging. As I have mentioned earlier, my love for ankle booties/boots here, Fedoras are also my favourite this season. It just adds elegance and femininity to your look. My go-to accessory to flaunt this Fall/Winter with any outfit.
Hope you liked this outfit pairing. I would love to hear from you how do you wear your plaids (in what form? a skirt, a dress, a shirt....) and how do you style it.
Thank you for stopping by..... until next time keep it stylish...keep it functional...
Lots of Love
Anie
